1974 large date - small date How to tell the differences

I have been searching the posts in hopes to find a comparison to for a 74 LD and SD. I did find that the LD the thickness can be deceiving with it's thickness. When going through the 74's I would find this thick ones and sort of get excited, I know it doesn't take much , but is there an easy way to tell the difference between the two and i take it that the the latter 2 of he three pics are just common LD's. Thanks for the help.

This LINK to the LCR page on the 1974 small and large date comparisons may help.

Small date, large date, large date.

And, by the way, there's no need to get excited over any of them - there's no premium value for either the small or large date from any of the three mints because they are all rather common.

Oh the excitement was seeing a small date first then the next was a large date with those stinking big numbers on the large date. Me being sort of new at all this keep seeing that those wide numbers is a possible DD or a sign thereof kinda got the juices flowing. I mean I can count all the DD's I have ever found on a few fingers of one hand.

Large date (High Relief) Lincoln has an 'Adams Apple', struck early in the year. Small date (Low Relief) Lincoln has a straight line--no 'Adams Apple' for the throat. This is an easy 'naked-eye' and will never fail to tell you which type you have.

I just look at the distance from the rim. However, like Chuck said, there's no premium anyway. Nonetheless, I have nice, high grade examples in my collection.
