Hi Guys

I think this might be a 84 DDO, it matches up pretty well in the cherrypickers guide. I looked it up on coppercoins and it has "almost" all the die indicators. Not shown but it has the scratch and pitting between and around the "ONE" and the flat #9 pillar. The only thing I can't locate is the marker at the top of bay #10. The obverse looks dead on (to me) with the date.
My camera took a dump so I had to sneak a few pictures from the stereo scope at work using my phone.

Thanks
Paul

I see zero doubling in those pictures. I'm inclined to say this is just a normal 1984-D cent, with some die deterioration.

Hi
I agree with Andrew - based on the pictures provided I see no doubling.

I'm seeing a normal coin... a little split plating, but not anything else...

I agree also. I see no class 2 or 6 on these photos.

Check the pictures in the Cherrypickers guide carefully. If this is the ddo I'm thinking of (ddo#1 on Coppercoins), you will see a prominent split on the lower left horizontal bar of the 4 in the date. That is the best pickup point for me. The lower right curl of the 8 is also much thicker, as is the L of Liberty. When you see one in hand, it really is quite dramatic.

Pick up point is a term we don't use enough! Thanks for reminding me of that.
