I came across an interesting eBay listing (#200186304731): A 1955S cent variety featuring filled 9, 5 and S mintmark. It's certified by ICG and this variety is included on the slab label.
I checked my PCGS 1955S's and found one that looks very much like this.
Here's two scans of my coin.

So, what do you think? Do you recognize my coin as a legitimate variety? Any other comments?

Thank you!

PS - If you happen to check out the eBay listing, doesn't it seen strange that a largely unrecognized variety that doesn't jump out at you would be priced equivalent to a 1955 DDO?

PPS - I stumbled across this forum doing a Google search, and just joined. Terrific! This is a very interesting forum, and the moderators did a great job with the sophistication of the website and the ease of navigation.

Welcome to the forum. I am glad you like it.

Filled die errors, unfortunately are quite common, and not worth much. That Ebay seller is trying to sell a common error for an outrageous amount. Because the variety is caused by a die chip, it is not considered a die variety, but rather an error. It is a nice coin to have, but not worth $5950.00.

Always be suspicious when an advertiser says, " These are extremely rare, I have four of them for sale".
