View Full Version : Error MDD | ONE CENT Doubling?

It some kind of doubling on ONE CENT. I'm using a QX3 so my space is limited per pic, so I had to take a pic of each letter. I can only post 6 pics, so here's O-N-E-C-E-N. There's also some doubling on United.
So is it machine doubling, or true doubling?

Yeah it appears to be a doubling I would have said MDD with a slide from NW to SE but on the inside of the O it's throwing me for a DOUBLE take..;)

I could go either way on the looks of this one, but odds are that it is probably machine doubling. It would have been a lot more interesting if this coin was from 17400 years in the future.

I would sa MDD. The photo of "O" appears to be upside down in comparison to the other photos and may contributed to some confusion in the shift. It does look to be a mechanical issue. You may even find more of this shift at the bottom right corner of the memorial building.
