Here is one of several coins I plan on posting that I'm not sure about. Look above the 7 and the 1. It looks like some hub doubling to me. There is no other hint of doubling anywhere else on the coin. What do you think?
It's an odd place for two gouges. I am not sure, someone would have to examine it to see if it were a class VIII or some other die anomaly. Thanks for posting Sean and good catch.
That is interesting. Seems to me that I recall seeing a similiar variety listed on eBay not too long ago. It was a 1971-D I think with a bar over the 7 and a bar under the L in LIBERTY. I just tried to find it but couldn't so I may be mistaken. Keep us posted on this one if you send it in.
