Here's a contest, but I've actually got a prize this time. Winner will receive their choice of either an uncirculated 2009P-1DR-021, a 2000 WAM, or a 1968 unc. reverse clash. The runners up will get whatever is left over, so the contest isn't over until we have 3 WINNERS!

So this is a coin scavenger hunt. You will need to both photograph specific coins and answer general knowledge questions to win. The pictures are of your OWN COINS. No editing posts once you submit!

You must find:

1) 3 wheat cents, from the 1930-1950, each must be from a different decade, and must include all mints. (Philly, Denver, SanFran), and then the same for 1970-1990.

2) At least 3 of the 7 1982 strike varieties (check lincolncentresource.com for more info)

3) Any wartime cent, as long as it is not the same coin involved with the first item on this list

4) The coolest/most unique coin in your collection.

You must answer the following questions:

1) What was the last date in which a lincoln cent can be found with a hand-punched mintmark?
2) When did the San Francisco mint FINALLY stop producing business strikes? (bonus to anyone who can tell me previous times when mintage was stopped at SF)
3) What class of doubled die is 1955P-1DO-001, and what is it called?

Good luck to everyone that participates! Can't wait to see the winners!

Simon

Nice contest!! Here is what I came up with:
3 wheats from 1930-1950, PDS all from different decades (pics1-3)
2) At least 3 of the 7 1982 strike varieties (4,5,6,and7)

3) Any wartime cent, as long as it is not the same coin involved with the first item on this list(pic 8)

And now, answers to your questions:
#1 1989
#2 1955, and then the started againg in 1968 and stopped again in 1974
#3 8 different classes of doubled dies

3) How many classes of doubled dies are there?

This question is probably unfair. Coppercoins and the other clubs don't necessarily agree on the number of classes.

I second Bob on this... I see you also corrected question #2. I didn't want to be facetious and correct you there...

No, I just was saying if it is unc, I need a higher grade example, if it isn't I would like the clash. Gosh, didn't think you guys would take it that way.:~

I didn't take it any particular way, but if you already have a WAM, maybe someone that doesn't should get it. I've got a few other coins I could send you instead.
