Hey guys... I was wondering if anyone had any idea what a 1925-S DDO#1 cent is worth in the VF-AU range. I've been trying to find some info online, but haven't had much luck.

Worth to who? The guy starting it for 99 cents on eBay? The guy who buys it for $7 on eBay? The guy who picks it up for $15 from the eBay buyer and pays $35 to get it slabbed? The guy on eBay who pays $80 for it on eBay as a slabbed XF-45? Or the purchaser who puts it in a national auction where it's purchased by a PCGS registry collector for $150.

Worth is only what someone is willing to pay for it, and depending on the market you're selling in that can vary greatly. A specific grade or photo will help to get a more solid answer, also where you plan to sell it, or to who will matter a great deal.

Worth is a funny thing.... different people have vastly different ideas and sometimes take it very, very personally. Don't worry though, coins shouldn't ever be an emotional matter, simply business.

Good post, Chris. Sums it up rather nicely.

Thank you.

I was hoping that someone knew of any recent sales...

I bought 2 at the Long Beach show- one was attributed, a VF/XF for $12 and another was a VF that I cherrypicked for $5. Does that help?

I sold a PCGS xf40 for $100 a couple years back.

I have sold 4 of these Gabe. The cheapest was a Fine example at 16.00. I did have a ANACS AU58 which was a real nice coin, and I sold it for a bit over $200. I sold that one about 8 months ago.

I picked up another example at a coin shop today in Fine, would be happy to sell it for $16.
