I went to a coin shop here in town I've never been to before, and in the rotating display I saw this. is it a class VI?

Here's a class VI for the 1934P...

I'm thinking it is normal. The E in WE shows something, but it just might be a ding or something associated with die wear. If there is extra thickness in the date, I feel it is nominal. It's still a nice looking 1934. Maybe Bob will have a different view...

Good idea Aisha, but 1934 DDO-003 might be a better comparison as the spread is not as extreme as DDO-002:

This one does not appear to be a class VI DDO Ryan.

Another vote here for a normal coin. The 1934 class VI ddo's are pretty distinctive and the
"ramp" on the E of "WE" is much more pronounced than in your example.

I would have to agree that this coin is normal.

Thanks for the help. Wishful thinking on my part.

Without hope and wishful thinking (and a few other variables), you would not be pursuing this and you would not make the find that you will in the future (probably sooner rather than later).
