Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet our new web admin Peter who brought some rather nice DDOs for me to photograph. I had to work quickly, but for the most part I got some good shots. Here is the first...

1970-S DDO-001
FS-101 (029)
1DO-001
WDDO-001
Class I
Huge spread, most noticeable in IGWT, LIBERTY and the date. The line through the date is a die crack.
Coin Courtesy: Peter

The pictures are almost as phenomenal as the coin. I was lucky enough to hold the coin pictured in my hand, didn't want to let go!

This is a really awesome doubled die.

I enjoyed meeting Peter, and immensely appreciate him taking the time to come over with a cache of great doubled dies. I got to shoot two DDOs I had yet to see in person, this one and a '72 die 4. I shot few others as well. At some point I'll get pics up of everything...

A tremendous coin indeed! This is also the only one I have ever seen in person - thanks again Chris!! I was relieved to see that the doubling was so dramatic, even on the date, as I have a habit of just checking the date on a lot of '70-s coins. I am pretty confident I have not missed this one. What a find it would be!

Thanks for posting your great shots Jason. It was a real pleasure to finally meet you yesterday and spend some time. Sorry it was so short but I'm lucky to have left when I did--got hammered in Manhattan traffic on the way back but it was totally worth the drive. I know I could probably spend many more days like that talking with you about Lincoln's while our wives looked on at us like we were two gibbering idiots!!

Was great to see how you work and tap into your immense knowledge--quite a learning experience for me. Even though I have this coin in front of me right now, I am also drooling over the close-ups and great detail you captured. Glad it can be used as a reference for us all and can't wait to see the other coins you shot. Thanks for your time and what I know was the first of many more get togethers like that. Enjoy Jason's great work everyone.

Glad to have had the chance to shoot such a prominent DDO. Sorry about the traffic Peter. Cutting across the city is never easy and you got out of here just a tad later than you should of.

I forgot to thank Chris. It was after all his suggestion that I shoot the coin. Thanks Chris!
