Is this additional thickness?

Is it worth keeping or continuing to look for?

Dave,
Extra thickness can sometimes be attributed to circulation wear rather than a doubled die. Usually a class VI (extra thickness) doubled die will show on all the letters of LIBERTY, not just affect one or two, so 1 picture showing all of LIBERTY is better than a picture of each individual letter. Keep up the hunt!

Thank you for the info.

With that much damage, it would be pretty tough to determine class 6 doubling. That coin looks like it has been around the block...literally. :LOL_Hair:

Sounds to me like I need to find a source for older BU cents to search.

Not necessarily BU cents. I've had plenty of RPM and DDO/DDR cents on normal, circulated wheats. Sure, it's better if they are BU, but for a beginner budget, average circulated wheats will do just as well to get you some finds and on your way to find more.
