I finally got a Brink's Box. Except for about 10 copper, it was entirely made up of 2008D. I found this and I'm wondering if it might be a DDO. There are what seem like notches in a couple letters in liberty. The ear and hair seem a little thicker than most...but it may just be that die. Any ideas? I have more photos if you think they might help.

I don't see anything that would lead me to believe it is doubled die type extra thickness. It looks like a real strong strike and an earlier die state coin. I would like to see a straight on shot of the date if you could though.Bob Piazza

What's up with the lips? I don't remember seeing that on 2008's. I'll check some that I have around here. Is that just the light reflecting or did it take a hit?

2008 a sleeper?
The mint has a glut of the 2008, as orders dropped 30 percent less than the previous year. Will they scrap these and turn them into new blanks, or will we see 2008 cents in bags on the mint site in 2017 like they sell the 2001 Kennedy half now?Comment
