I'm not sure which one this is. Maybe an earlier die state thant he one listed on coppercoins for 1do-002? Though it lacks any of the markers which wouldn't be unexpected.

That is an extremely tough find. It's either 1DO-002 or 1DO-004.

Wow, great eyes and awesome pictures. You can see the separation on the 9 in the date.

Thanks everyone! :) It was certainly a surprise to me when it came under the microscope. :)


That is an extremely tough find. It's either 1DO-002 or 1DO-004.

I found a marker for 1DO-004 on the obverse (die scratch leading off the tie).
The only thing that confuses me is the 1DO-004 is listed as a Class 6. Would this not be a combination of 6 and 2? Not too knowledgeable about doubled die classes so any clarification is appreciated!

Yes Matt. You are correct. It may be that the specimen examined for the site was too worn to see any separation lines. That is easily changed if we find a better example.
