    1972 D possible mmm? I need help. Anyone seen this?

    Check out this 1972d. Has what appears to be a d punched over the 9 and possibly at base of 7. Let me know what you think

    I think those are die chips or some other anomaly in the date, if I am seeing the picture correctly. Don't see anything at the base of the 7.

      I agree, it seems you have some rather interesting die chipping on the 9. While it would be nice if it was something else, RPMs are rarely that heavily punched. I too am not detecting anything notable at the base of the 7.

        Just some die chips at the 9. That kind of stuff is more common in the later wheats when they overused the dies. I also see a die scratch showing at the base of the 7, but no RPM.

          Thanks for the replies folks. I was hoping it wasn't just die chips. But that's how it rolls. Now it'll go back to the roll. Lol. It is an interesting shape for a die chip though. Guess ill keep looking.
