2013 Super bowl Challenge!

Hi everyone! I thought it would be neat to run a super bowl contest. So here is how it is going to go down:

You must guess the final score of the 2013 Super bowl(49er's xxx Ravens xxx) (San Francisco 49er's VS Baltimore Ravens) Who ever is the closest to the final score wins. In case of the event that two people are equally close, You must also guess who will get the first points of the game and how (example, if you think the ravens will score first, you would say, "ravens get a TD first, on a pass from Flaco to Torrey Smith) This will only come into play if there is a tie between two or more contestants. You may not guess the same score that someone else already has.
Here is the catch... at the end, all contestants who do not win, must send a Numismatic themed gift to the winner. (their address will be sent to the contestants via PM/email) Doesn't have to be anything special, could be a 1955 DDO-1, or a UNC 1958 wheat, or a New York transit token.... What ever you choose. BUT, we have to get enough contestants.

No editing posts, and all entries must be made BEFORE kickoff.

I thought the refs were totally biased towards the Ravens...there were so many pass interference calls that were not made in favor of the 49ers.
Seriously though, congrats to the Ravens and their fans. To the 49ers and the fans...we'll win it next year!

Larry, I think you have the closest score, but I'm not sure how Alex will calculate the results. Is it the difference between the 2 scores that wins it, or is it the accuracy in predicting it?

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to send a coin to Larry. I just think that in the future, Alex, there needs to be clear, consistent rules spelled out in the beginning...nothing vague like "whoever is closest wins".

...and what does that mean? Closest to each team's score? Closest to the aggregate score? Closest to the mean, median, mode? Closest to the last score? etc. etc. etc.

Agreed, "closest to the final score" could mean a number of different interpretations. Most sports contests you'd pick a winner, and either the final score for each or the margin of victory.

I think I am the winner, since I usually win every contest anyway, and I purposely avoided this one because of the ambiguity that nobody else noticed until after it ended. Thank you for considering my argument. :)

If you were chosing the closest to the score i dont feel right taking the win... i chose the 49ers(by mistake in my post) to win 31-29 so if anyone else chose the ravens to win they should get the contest win... its only fair... for some odd reason i thought i picked the ravens in my post(thats why i thought i won)...lol!
