1955 D extra metal

Here is one that I am not sure about. Extra metal south east of the MM. It is raised and part of the coin. Not a hit. Any thoughts?

It certainly looks like a hit from my perspective...but perhaps it is a small lamination peel from the MM.

Trust me on this one. It is no hit. I checked with 400x and there is no sign of a hit or a peel. The shape is pressed there. Possible from the strike. I think I might send this to Jason or Bob for a closer in hand look. That is if they want to look at it.

Sorry Frank, I was completely looking at the wrong thing. I was looking at the anomaly directly below the mintmark. I see what you are pointing at now...not sure what it is.

It does appear to be a minor lamination peel Frank.
