Steven - You must be in a hot spot for trail dies. Both of those are new. If you get a cnance, send them on down if you will.

So these trail things are popular? I'll have to back through some cents.. I thought it was die deterioration..

I don't understand them as BJ does I think that this occurs during the hubbing process making them die varieties rather than errors or abraided.
I have seen some listed for a fair premium on an auction site. Not sure how well they sell though I hadn't kept up that much. I just saw an opportunity to collect another variety and jumped on it. :)
BJ has listed several of mine and I am always glad to help.

Pat - As Steven pointed out, they are starting to become popular. By the way, they are the same thing as wavy steps, only in a different place, so when talking about way steps, you are actually talking about a form of trails.

Thanks Steven

Yeah.. Consider me almost blind.. Because I don't get the whole wavy step thing or at least it doesn't stand out to me.. Any premium examples to share with some markers?

And another. This one not so pronounced but a different die showing the trails to the north. Already package three to send to BJ or I would have thrown this one in as well. Maybe not listable or maybe so?????????

Steven, I might have that die listed, however, it is always better to make sure.

Thanks,

Okay Pat , you want some pictures. Sorry that they are B/W, however, I am getting ready for the FUN show, so these are some old ones.

This is a 1994P Lincoln cent with very strong trails. If the offset direction had been 90 degrees (160 degrees), this would have been a wavy step, like the next picture.

This is the strongest wavy step known to date, it even affects the lowest step. From 1999, this is listed as die # 15.

Okay it is me, wavysteps, under a new name.

Sorry to say, they are not trails. It appears that this is the result of die abbrasion.
