Trying to figure out if this coin has a re-punched mint mark.

Your picture of the MM needs to be a little larger. You have coin in hand. Go to the link and see if you can find it first.

Mike, one or two good shots are all that's necessary. Take a look at how coppercoins shows the date & MM in one shot,that and then a close up of the MM and we would be good. All the angles and turning of the coin don't help.

My guess is that you have machine doubling, The shelf like appearance is visible on the MM and 9 and 4 in the date are all equal.

Does machine doubling affect both the MM and the date. Are they stamped separately ?

They are hubbed and punched into the die, but the coins are then struck, not stamped. All the details you see on your coin are from when the die strikes the coin.
