Couldn't exactly find this on cc, any thoughts, is it an rpm, thanks folks....

I'm not seeing anything to indicate an RPM. If you're talking about the raised area inside the lower loop of the S, that was normal for the punch used at the time.

I agree with Jody. That excess metal is just due to the depth of the punch I believe.

I looks like it took a hit also. Bottom to flat. I would also agree with what is said above.
