I found this coin in a roll of bank. I have no idea how it was in the bank. The point is that this coin weighs 2.6 grams. I have not the slightest idea of this type of coin. I would like to get opinions to give me light on this matter. Thanks.

I have been buying proof sets since 99..... From what I see -- the frosted strike with mirror-like field -- you have a loose proof...

I've found quite a few proofs in bank rolls. People get desperate and cash them in for face value. Presumably not collectors... more those that don't know that they are a special coin which creates one upset collector and a happy roll searcher. lol Nice find! :)

It's a coin from a proof set that someone spent.
It still looks decent for being found in a roll.

Nice to find them.

Yep, like the business guy said buy sets break them up and sell on ebay.

Never could do that.

Nice find

2.5 grams is normal for a zinc cent...I wouldn't get excited over a .1g difference

Its a nice roll find but I'm thinking along the lines that the coin was stolen from some poor guy's collection and found its way to a bank..Crimes against us collectors happen all the time!! It's just my thought everytime I see a thread like this one.I once was a victim of my home being broken into and all my coins stolen.:(
