Hi! I started collecting coins last August (2008) when I began metal detecting. When winter arrived, I started coin roll hunting and because of this I have been coming across U.S. coinage. I'm interested in learning about errors and have been lucky enough to find a few. By day, I'm a Chef, an artist and photographer. Glad to be a member of this forum!

Thanks for the warm welcome, eveybody! This is a great site, full of very interesting information! I do get U.S. cents in the rolls. I average about four per roll in the rolls from a nearby bank. The most in one roll has been fifteen. The oldest so far is 1915. I have a few from the 40's and 50's. I also have some from the 80's to date that are in almost unc condition. No wide AM's yet. I do have an interesting cent with an interesting die gouge that I'll post later in another thread. The earliest U.S. cents I have found metal detecting are 1919s, 1920s and a 1924s. Since I began coin roll hunting a couple of months ago, I've accumulated over 400 Lincolns of which 40 are wheats. I find the collecting of Lincoln cents an exciting and diverse area of coin collecting. I'm really interesting in errors and varieties. In addition to collection Lincolns, I also collect mainly Canadian coins and paper money and some foreign. I would be glad to try to help if anyone has questions regarding Canadian coins.
