Im going to start a contest it will last till May 8th at 10PM eastern time. I have many double dies and errors up for grabs. The double dies are 2011 and 2012. The errors are struck thru, die clashes, woodies, MADs, and clipped planchetts. Plus Ill throw in a bunch of trail dies. The catch is every person who guesses a number has to donate $5 to forum. So if you dont want to pay forum $5 dont participate. If a person guesses a number and dont pay forum that persons guess will not count. In total there will be about 100 or more coins given away in this contest. So here goes all answers have to be a different number and only one guess per person for the whole contest. Once the number is guessed answer cannot be changed. The guess closest to answer without going over wins.
So the question is how many keepers (die varieties, varieties, and errors) will I find till May 8th. I only keep the more dramatic ones just so you know. One other thing is Ive been on a really hot streak lately. So good luck everyone and thanks for participating.

Great idea... please dont take this the wrong way but i think you might have better results for the forum if you made a $5 donation per guess entry fee... if you can even do that!

Im open for ideas on how to make the forum more money. We could do that $5 dollars a guess and if money is not paid guess will be illiminated and not count.

Are you saying that there will only be one winner of the 100+ coins you have to give away?
You may also get better results by giving examples of the coins that can be won. Variety numbers and or pictures.
Also include examples of the type of "collectibles" you do keep out of your searches and the quantity you'll be searching may help as well. :)

Only one winner. The types I keep out of the searches basically dont count as a number find are wheat pennies unless die variety or dramatic error. Mild errors and die varieties dont count either. Make a note I ony have 80 some coins I put in my coin books. But Ive found 20 some keepers in one month alone. I will probably be looking through 10000 Cents in that time. The trail dies are from 2011 and 2012. The DDOs are from 2011 and 2012. The die clashes there somewhat mild but on obverse side. The 1989 struck thru error that I just posted struck thru fiber. In the long run its worth more than $5. Losers well lose $5 but winner makes out like a bandit. Its like playing cards all in but only one winner. No pictures though its a blind bid. Want to make it more interesting so the winner can be more excited what comes in the mail.

I found 2 coins that I added to the donation winner. A nice 2004 DDR on pillar left of lincoln and a 1996 obverse trail die. These are 2 coins I dont care for for myself but letting someone else enjoy or sell.

I went through the coins that I wanted to donate. Theres a little over 100 coins. Ive been putting questionable possible DDOs in the group too. I wasnt sure if they were listable or not but just threw them in so someone else can go through the hassle.:tinysmile_hmm_t: But overall with all the errors and die varieties I put in the group its worth the 5 dollars believe me.

So far as was able to look through 8000 cents since contest started.
