Not that I know of,but I have heard of them without rim cuds. Why would you want a picture without scratches ? It would just be a normal reverse. The obverse doubling is what's important.
Thanks. I didn't know if there was a variety without the die scratches. I read somewhere that on the later die state the rim cuds doesn't stand out as much. So I was wondering if the same could happen with the die scratches. Thank you.
I recall seeing a thread on another forum that said the reverse die was also found paired with a different obv die (normal non-ddo) and it still had the markers. (that's on the CU forum if someone wants to search for the thread)
If that's true I'd assume the reverse die was used throughout the short life of ddo-4 and beyond that still had the markers so they'd still be on the latest stages of ddo-4.
There were multiple pairings of the reversed used for DDO-004 with other obverses that came AFTER the DDO. I want to say there were at least 2-3. It's confusing. Both Wexler and Crawford were creating post DDO stages for the reverse die. Someone also found the obverse for 1983 DDR-001 post DDR with another reverse. Rock found the reverse for 1996 DDO-002 before it was paired with the DDO.
