Can anyone explain to me why it seems that every 1968 cent seems to have IGWT touching the rim? It almost seems like every single coin is a "slightly MAD" on the obverse side.

i may not have the terms right...but...it is the original galvano or the hubs were pushed outward over time.....by the hubbing process...pushing the letters closer and closer to the edge over time...
in 69 they were redone...check out the spacing difference between 68 and 69
see coneca website http://varietyvista.com/Lincoln%20Cent%20ODV%20Changes.htm

"This procedure worked well, for it did save the MINT time. However, due to the repetitive use of the master hub to master die, the obverse design elements spread towards the rim. After some changes to the obverse die to correct the spread, a new galvano was introduced for the obverse die in 1969 (the reverse die had a new galvano for 1959)."
