For those interested here is a coin that very seldom comes up for auction. This is a classic for this series.

This will sell high if it sells. And No! the reserve price is not .99 Cents:(

Thanks for posting - it is a nice coin and rarely seen.
And I think it is safe to say that it is way out if my budget :(

I got the opportunity to examine and photograph one of those (it was later slabbed by NGC MS64/RD) not too long ago that was found in a roll of 70-S cents.

That's a tuff one! Stuff that dreams are made of. Years ago I got to search a mint sealed bag of 70-S. Was hoping but not there. But, the bag did have quite a few of those hi/low 70's and what was really weird that out of those 5000 coins -- only one was a small date.

I think that a majority of the 1970 small dates came out of mint sets.

Some in past auctions have been around the $8k to $15k range depending on grade, color and which TPG had it encapsulated.

However, on this one being offered, and especially in today's economy with it not being a sellers market, probably will not reach those price ranges from past auctions/private sales.

It's a PCGS MS 64 Red/Brown and I think you hit the Nail on the Head on the price range Billy. MS65 RED would proably go 15K-18K. :)

How can you tell if a TELETRADE auction has a reserve?

How can you tell if a TELETRADE auction has a reserve?

You can't. However the starting bid will actually the reserve as the owner of the coin can bid against the bidders as (Buy Back), If he (the owner) does not think it should sell at such a low price. That is why I don't care much for Teletrade.
That is the reason if you check the prices realized section the next day and you do not see a final price on that particular coin it was proably a Buy Back. The seller has to pay a fee for this if he is the winning bidder.

Interesting. That explains a lot. I see a lot of coins that are listed over and over.

This particular coin was in last Sunday's auction. I believe the bidding got up to around $3100, but the consignor bought it back and now it's up for auction once again.

Does the seller have to pay the 15% for their own coin?

Found my own answer:

Consignors will be charged a flat 5% fee (minimum $5) on their full Buyback bid on any lots bought back in this manner. The maximum fee for any Buyback lot is $100.

I got up this AM and saw your post.
Also if the consignors elects they can relist two more times to sell there coin. So if it doesn't sell that is why you see it again and again.
