I have a 1953 D wheat back that's shinny like a nickel and sticks to my magnet. Why would this be?

This should be in the Lincoln Cent Discussion area, but I digress.
Someone probably plated it with a magnetic alloy post-Mint. Pictures would be useful but it's not worth any more than .01.
To answer your question, yes steelies are the only magnetic US coin.

It might be plated with something that is attracted to a magnet. Do you have a picture?
EDIT: I merged the threads. General discussion is an acceptable area.

Steel cents are the only US coin attracted to a magnet, do you run a magnet over all your dimes, quarters, halves and dollars in addition to nickles?
