I just picked out a 1946 s that on "Trust" the T is barly visible but the rest of the cent is very little wear.

Is it possible for just 1 letter to get struck through?

Yes it is. You will find cents with utterly random things struck through. Some will have one letter, some will have entire groups of things missing. I once sold a 1953-D with only the "I" in LIBERTY struck though; nothing else was missing.

1946 was also known for worn-out dies. It could be a struck through, but photos would tell us 100% for certain.

Die wear, die abrasion, struck through grease- there are lots of ways to lose a letter, number or any part of the design, anywhere. It's a pretty common occurrence, except when it effects most or a large part of the coin's design.

These don't get too interesting until a lot of the design has been wiped out.

Or one small part is completely wiped out. Most STG's aren't complete like the 1922 Plain. Most are like the 1922 Weak D. Even one letter is interesting if it is COMPLETELY gone. Not worth a lot, but still interesting to look at. This is that '53-D I was talking about in my earlier post. Sold for about $20.

No opinions if it's just wear or struck thru?

They look like they're struck through dies that were partly clogged on those letters.
