For those of you that haven't heard, it is with sadness and great respect that I inform you that a giant amongst Lincoln Cent collectors has passed away, Mr. Gerald Glasser. Gerry had the #1 Lincoln Cent collection in the registry in all categories for probably the last five years or more. The Thomas Irwin Collection. I believe the only coin missing from his 1909-2013 complete circulation strikes with varieties was the 1958 ddo.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Gerry, but like many in our online community that will never cross paths in the flesh, he was in the small circle of online registry friends of the PCGS forums.
His collection was certainly a labor of love, and I hope that someone in his family opens it up to display before eventually selling it off. (He had it closed to public view online.)
RIP, Gerry.

It's ironic that something he devoted so much time and passion to isn't even mentioned in his obituaries, but it wasn't overlooked.

It is ironic, Chris. Yet the man had so many accomplishments in his life that numismatic endeavors were hardly a footnote.
