For as interesting of an over mintmark (or perhaps controversial) this date is, has anyone tracked any realized prices on this coin? I've seen a couple of them recently and have wondered if there's enough interest in this variety that the market has started to discover the potential. What are your guys' thoughts?

There's great potential if it's ever fully accepted as a variety. Key to it being valuable is how many reference books it appears in as a listed variety. The more people want it, the more it'll be worth.

I think one can get this for like $10-20 raw UNC/BU. It is also known as RPM-012 as CONECA delisted the OMM and kept it as an RPM.

For clarification purposes, are we talking about the 56-D/S #2, with the S showing between the 1 and 9 in the date? I've handled a number of each variety and slabbed them, but I don't want to give the wrong information.

I think most people still refer to RPM-012, as OMM-002 (supposed S east of the D) and what Wexler calls WDMM-001, as OMM-001 (supposed S between the 1 & 9). But I guess the OP will have to answer which he meant.

Yes, I was referring to the OMM where the S is east of the primary MM. I haven't personally seen the completely separate S between the one and nine in person before.
