I'm not an expert, but this 1917 DDO is missing something
I'm not picking up any doubled die at all, much less DDO1. Just some MD.
All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. Offer not valid in New Jersey.
On the 1917 DDO even in very low grades you can clearly see the doubling inside the R of trust, that area is well protected. This coin is in nice shape and shows none of the right doubling anyplace, just some MD.
I reported it. Historically I have made little to know progress getting coins pulled with MD labeled as a particular doubled die. It sometimes works with a biggie (1955, 1972, 1984 etc), but most often it gets sent to their so called CCW and they do nothing. I am not sure I have tried a 1917...
Agree with Jason...counterfeits are pretty easy to get pulled, but getting something like this pulled is difficult especially if they don't specifically identify it.My feeling if somebody spends this kind of money on MD without researching it....too bad.
