I've been dabbling in coins most of my life. When I was young, I had a paper route and sometimes the customers would pay me with a mercury dime or silver quarter. I also hoarded wheat cents every chance I could. Lately, I've been spending some of my free time sorting pennies (and other coins) from bank rolls. I'm trying to learn to more about the errors and varieties. That's how I came upon this site. Looks like lots of good information and friendly folks.

By the way, I found a 1951 D RPM today!

Hey rollhunter, welcome to LCR.
Do you know which rpm you found?

Here's photos of the 51 D/D RPM (found in circulation). I don't know if the quality of the pictures is good enough to be of any help. I am still working on my coin photography skills.

Looks as though it may be this die.............

You may want to check for any markers shown.......

Thanks for the link. I do not see any of the markers given for that variety. Maybe I have one of the "no pictures available" varieties? Any ideas where else I could look for info. about this coin. I realize it's a low grade coin of little value, but tracking it down will help my education.

Hi Rollhunter,

The secondary MM and the overall MM location looks the same as #10 in the link. Keep in mind that not all examples will have the die markers shown. They can be worn off over time or just from a different die state. Good Luck in your searches.
