I finally got some time off work to search through coins today. I've actually been looking for the die for quite a while. I'm uncertain about this coin as well but I am inclined to believe this is a die dent or die gouge rather than being a doubled die with looking at it under the scope.

It is cool nonetheless...and I keep forgetting to look for it...nice find !

Yea, I just can't believe this is a doubled die either. How could it be anything but a die chip?

Nice one. I'd be happy to find it.

Very nice find Matt.
I forget to look for this variety most times.

Still a cool find. This was already debunked by coppercoins.

I've looked for the die for a long while also Matt. Like you, I do not think it's a Doubled die, but still very cool and intriguing. Nice find :)

Thanks! Yeah, I would think if it were a doubled die that it'd show more features of the eye giving the size and depth of the anomaly.

I do not think it was debunked yet. could be a doubled die or a very nice die gouge as noted, i have found my share of these have examined them side by side and they are all the same. this coin needs to be looked at again and given what it truly is because no one really knows for sure what to call this coin, a doubled die? a die gouge or what?

Yes it was debunked on coppercoins as a gouge.

Yes it was debunked on coppercoins as a gouge.

That was an opinion, not a fact as of yet. there has been no given proof that this could be either. wexler still has this coin listed as a doubled die and so does coneca?

Bob and Chuck's opinion is good enough for me..and as I mentioned before...still a cool find.

It seems more like a gouge as opposed to hub doubling. Spent some time examining one and couldn't see anything to change my mind...
