GOOD NEWS:
Found this little guy today. Home from work sick so why not search some rolls?
Looks like an EDS . No markers from Coppercoins and I don't see die scratches so Im assuming EDS.

BAD NEWS: To be continued!!!:squigglemouth:

OK . You ready for the bad????

BAD: Its a TOP 100 RPM that looks like this.

I didn't have anything to loose soaking it in Verdi-Care over night. (Ok found it last night, got to it today) Looks slightly better but its so ugly:(
Before and after. It was so bad that it grew onto a BU 1970S that looked like it just came from the mint. They were stuck together.
Nothing is going to help the pitting from the corrosion.
Maybe another soak for the rest of the obverse but...http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/hand-gestures/forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon.gif

So sad

Your coin is MDS - as is evidenced by the many flow lines and lack of crispness on the outer edges of the devices. Whether markers match would be another issue entirely.

Would that make the coin listed an LDS? I cant find any die scratches on this coin, not like it matters now being how its pretty much worthless
If you can see this coin is MDS and the one listed is MDS, what do you use to determine the die state if you had both of these coins in hand?

If you can see this coin is MDS and the one listed is MDS, what signs do you use as changing the die state listed if you had both of these coins in hand?

That's one of the shortfalls of the website. We do not list stages, we list only die states, and try to include as much as we can within three die state windows. Just because an MDS die receives die scratches does not make it an LDS. It makes it an MDS with different markers. We try to list as many different as possible, but sometimes fall short of that mark. Trying to list images of every single marker stage would be expensive and cumbersome.

OK. So you look at the state of the die itself and it don't matter about the marker. So like flow lines and wear is somewhat of a marker for die state?. What makes them become a LDS or what makes it an EDS. I never got that deep into die state to determine it on my own. I just always went with whatever its listed as

Not sure how to link to threads on LCR. I just copy/paste address. Works on my end.
