Just got an amscope and already I'm loving it. I have a Canon 50D and was wondering if anyone has tried out the adapter for it with the scope.

This one:

How are the optics with it? I understand I won't get whole coin shots, but I can just get a macro lens for that. Just trying to figure out if it will give me decent images before I buy it. Thanks.

That's what I use for my AmScope/Canon setup. It works fine, but focus is not consistent across the entire field of view. I'm not sure that isn't something that's just inherent in scopes though.

They work great. You could probably find a cheaper one on ebay.

Thanks, I'll probably go with this. Need to take pics, I have come across coins I have questions about :)

I have one for my Nikon, wasn't a big fan. Now I leave the Nikon hooked up to one of Ray's setups and just use the AmScope for searching.

I have a macro lens for my iPhone that I use for up close detail shots such as spreads, mint marks etc. For whole coin shots I use the camera on my Canon Vixia; works beautifully.
