I picked up $10 in CWR cents this morning when I went to my CU. I pulled out 6 wheats and...my 4th 1995 DDO#1 :) I was wondering when I would stumble upon another DDO. It's been quite awhile now since my last.

Great find, I haven't found one in circulation yet, but I have bought 4 of them when the price is right.

Thanks. This is probably the best looking out of my 4. But the price is right at .01 :)

Nice coin. Been searching a little bit with Wells Fargo my source and not much luck. Need to find another supplier. Have yet to find that one.

Loomis is the supplier for my credit union. I have had a lot of luck with them.

I've also found 5 of these...my supplier is the US Mint:wink:

Well obviously... :)
Gotta be honest, I'm not 100% sure where the coins come from. Obviously Loomis delivers them but where do they get them? I'm guessing they come from the Fed. Are they just delivered in big bins or already rolled? My rolls are just plain generic "50c pennies" rolls. Nothing else.

1do-01 will always be my favorite variety since it is the first doubled die I found when I started searching. Congrats.

Actually, the coin companies roll their own coin at the facilities. They don't just deliver they pick up coin also. They only get coin from the fed if they are running low or are force fed coin when the new year coins come out.

That's what I thought. The vault manager at my CU told me that the coin they bag up from the counter goes back to the fed via loomis. I just figured loomis opened those bags and re-rolled them. I pick up and dump at the same bank and was worried for awhile that I was recycling coins so I marked about 6 boxes worth with a sharpie before dumping them. I still have yet to see a single one.

I guess my point was that the company wrapping coins really has nothing to do with our search results when it comes to varieties...they are simply wrapped, distributed, bagged in counters, wrapped, and distributed again.

Congrats!

* Still looking for my first on this one (Unbelievable, considering the much rarer coins that I've found over the years!)

Gotcha gotcha :)

Ive found one of these, though it took 17 years!
Such a nice spread. It's the kind of variety that (while not rare in any sense of the word) can knock you out of your chair with the "wow" factor.
It's also the reason many of us got into searching cents in the first place back when this coin appeared on the cover of USA Today.

One thing that matters is which area you are in.
Cents travel but still, the plain cents don't migrate west very fast. Even among 18 year old 1995 cents around here are almost all are D mints. So the odds of finding something like a 95-P DDO in bank bags is a lot less. In the eastern states they don't get as many D mints.
It's really strange that they migrate so slow but I guess most travelers aren't bringing many cents across the country. Whenever I've searched boxes from eastern states, it's a lot more exciting. :)

That's why I want to search some boxes from out west! Mostly all I am missing from my wheats and nickels is all Denver and San Fran stuff.

You should try swapping boxes with someone from out west.
