    Die stage Type Set?

Anyone ever heard of/tried this? For example, 1909 WDDO-002 has five stages. I wonder if anyone has put together a type set of all five stages? Might be interesting to try.

We have a 1909 DDO "expert" here, I remember he had and also discovered many of the stages of the 1909 DDOs. Just can't remember who it is.

That's the beauty of being a numismatist. There are many different ways of collecting as well as a few numbering systems you can subscribe to. If you want to try and assemble die stage sets, then that is very cool and could be quite challenging. One thing to remember though is that die stages can change if an intermediate example is found. In that case, it may be necessary to change your labels to reflect a die stage that is added or changed. If you take it on, the best of luck to you.

Also consider all the examples would have to be mint state for accuracy's sake. It would be an ambitious project IMO.

Yup... It's me.. Lol! I have spent the last 4 years doing just that. Accumulating a die stage set of 1909 VDB ddo# 2's. When I started finding them there was only 4 stages listed, there is 6 now, I found stage E, and F, F is not yet listed, but it's out there! It has a die crack developed from the left wheat! Stage A with no filled letters is a toughy! Also I've found a few unattributed N.G.C.'s ranging from AU-58 to MS-65. It has been a chore, but enjoyed almost every bit of it!
