I have been lurking in the shadows for a few months now. I am going against a decision I made to not join any more message boards or forums. So I'm mostly posting to get rid of that prompt at the top of the screen that tells me I have not posted yet.:)

I recognize some of you from other coin forums. But for those I don't know here we go.

I was given a hand full of old coins from my Granddad when I was 13 or 14. A 2 cent, two 3 cents silver and nickel, a half dime, a civil war token, and a 20 cent.
I started filling a Lincoln Whitman album that year. When I was 15 I bought a BU 1909 VDB. I have never been the same since!

I hope to continue to learn from you fine folks here, and if I can pass along some knowledge that would be cool too.

Well Peachy,

I'm very glad that you decided to speak up. I have been collecting in general for many years and am still posting basic questions (in my opinion). As you have seen from lurking that this forum does not frown...(is that how you spell that?) on any question. We love to see pictures and welcome any question or comment. SO, welcome to the forum and post away. I think I remember your avatar in other forums!

Welcome,
Lestrrr

"I have never been the same since!"
Then you have lurked into the right place. We understand your excitement, disappointment and frustrations involving this hobby, or passion... or addiction?
Welcome and have fun. And by all means post some pictures of your lovelies.. and your coins.
Cute avatar kid, reminds me of one of my grand daughters at that age. She could give us a look of disapproval exactly like my mother. Sort of creepy.
Have fun,
Jean

Welcome to the Forum. Glad to see your not Lurking out on the fringes as it is nice to have new pictures and comments and knowledge.

So post away if you have any questions or need help as someone here can proably provide the answer or direction to go.

As a writer, it is always delightful when a personal story is about a collector. 1909 was a great year to start! Enjoy!
