CPG 1951D FS-521

I found these two in the wheat bag I just finished. The Cherry Pickers Guide has this listed as FS: 521 noting that they suspect a misplaced D mintmark in the "5". This is just a die chip right? I can see how it kind of resembles a "D" but to me all I see is a large die chip. What are your thoughts?

I agree just a large die chip. They over worked the dies in the 1950's. They used them until the die died! Thus all the weird stuff we find in that decade.

We've discussed this here before and most of us agree it is just a die chip. There are many similar die chips in other years as well.

Die chip - no doubt. Still interesting though. The CPG number needs to be pulled...
