View Full Version : Can eyelids double this far away?

So I have these two coins, 1941 P and 1945 D, both with something similar to a doubled eyelid. Given the positions and shapes I would have to guesse they are gouges or something else, but curious what others think!

1941 P -

From the shape of it I think it might just be a nice chip. I've been wrong before though.

Or a gouge. The angle is incorrect for this to be doubled lid.

I think gouge too. I also think that offset hub doubling to that degree is very unlikely.

I agree with everyone else. They appear to be gouges, and not doubled eyelids.
