1988-P Looks strange?

Check out the reverse of this 1988-P - it just looks wrong. It looks like it was struck too deep? I dunno.

Cool coin Roger.
Don't know what to make of it, but it looks like a nice clean coin for a collection.
Those 80's are a pain to find in good condition.

I actually think that they wee struck on the weak side. I maybe wrong, but it appears that the metal flow was not complete to the rim and left a semi rim in the midst of the outer design elements.
