    Buyer Beware | 1992 D clam

After this was re-listed then pulled for error.

He is listing a second coin. Even with the blurry photo's you can tell that is not a a CLAM.

I'm confused by the entire listing. At the bottom of the listing it says:
          "Close A M
          DDO
DOUBLED lips , forehead , in God we trust
          Double Dated
          D/D
          DDR"

That is quite a list of wishful thinking for one coin.
The coin is not a close AM. It is a normal rdv-oo6 for the date.
It is not a DDO. The "doubling" seen on the motto is a combination of glare feedback, and die deterioration doubling.
The "DOUBLED" lips and forehead, etc. is again glare feedback or a possible plating disturbance. The photographs are too blurry to determine which for sure, but it doesn't matter since they are both valueless.
The "doubling" on the date is die deterioration doubling. Again valueless.
The "D/D" is also from die deterioration. It is not and can not be an rpm as the mint mark was part of the master die in 1992.
It is not a DDR. The legend is also exhibiting die deterioration doubling, which is possibly the reason this seller is confused about this coin. Die deterioration can slightly alter how the spacing looks between the letters, which is why we always recommend looking at the initials to identify wide AM and close AM varieties.

I wish the seller would be willing to visit with us to educate themselves because this type of listing is bad for the hobby and can only serve to discourage those who get "burned" buying such coins. If the seller refuses to educate themselves, we can only hope potential buyers will fully educate themselves before spending a lot of money on a worthless coin.

Apparently $1USD won't buy it either. Oh well. Isn't there a price limit on uncertified coins.

Good because even 99 cents is 98 cents more than it's worth.

I am curious as to why you see it necessary to play games with this person. You know the listing is wrong and you know the person obviously doesn't care what you think. However, to make 99 cent offers and then announce them here is like playing childish games, and now he thinks someone is interested. Just report it and leave it alone.
