It looks like an S but something is connecting inside the north of the MM.

It look, to me, like an "S" over a portion of another, possibly inverted, "S".

May be just my eyes but does anyone else see what may be a die crack from the tail of the 5 to the upper serif of the MM. Could that be the it. Otherwise looks normal to me. Just my opinion.

It's a very slight die crack.
It looks like the upper part of the mintmark took a hit. I would throw it back.:sad:
