Die cracks are not rare (except maybe ones caused by split dies) or noteworthy, but this one impresses me due to the well defined and substantially (deep) raised resulting strike. The crack is squared down to the temple but terminates at the beginning of the beard on the profile. Wonder if anyone here has found a coin that shows a continuation of this crack. If it survived long enough, this would surely have resulted in a split die.
