I thought I post this one. I haven't seen any listed on ebay before, not that I've looked or could afford one.:tinysmile_hmm_t:

I have never seen one listed on E-bay either. He proably has a high reserve and it's only a MS-61.

They are super tough to find or come across but a really nice addition to a collection.

An MS-61. Really?? Looks pretty rough to me but I'm not one to say that I can grade a coin. Maybe in hand it looks better.

I would bid if it was not so ugly. Did you notice the link to the site...and Joe's coin.

Well it is publicity for you Brad and the LCR.

Nice die variety but a little on the ugly side.

Nahh....I'll wait until I find one in change. I live next to the state where it was discovered and I know at least 10 have popped up there.

I missed out on seeing this listing. What was the asking price?

I don't remember as that was 3 months ago. However is higher grades they can go for $800.00 and up. They are hard to come by.

I had six. Billy bought one from me, then he sold two for me on ebay in '03.
I sold one to MacMurry in Colo, traded one to Jose for a nice coin I wanted, kept the 6th one for myself. Have not found one since 2005

Boy, they are a beautiful coin! The first one I found I bought a gallon milk jug half full from girl i worked with and I saw it and didn't know what i had, this was Feb 99.
I had never seen anything so dramatic looking. Quickly learned what it was from asking around. Then second was Oct '00, found two in one month May 02, found
fifth one Sep 03 and last one in May 05. Each one got lesser in grade and good looks
as I found them. I believe there are 10 varieties of 95D, i have 8. Some are difficult
to see doubling, very minor. Never have found the reverse variety yet, nor the 95P's
I found 4 95P 1-0-V, one 2-0-V, no third variety. I keep searching, our motto. I
live in right area at right time. I still lose it every time I see a 95D while doing bags!

I got the one from Bill. Came across one out of circulation quite a while back. Freaked me out. The first area I always start on examination is the date. The moment I saw the date and mint mark, bingo, I knew exactly what it was before even looking anywhere else on the obverse. Being in SC, I don't see very many D-Mints and that was a total shock to come across it.

After this many years from being first reported, and still with not that many located, something must have happened to that working die. Though I'm purely speculating, I always wondered if maybe the press operator might have caught that die and pulled it. Whatever the case, as the years go by, it even becomes more elusive.

I agree as you never see them on E-bay or auctions. It is a spectacular coin. I like it better than the 72/72.
