here is an example of a very tough doubled die to locate. trying to find this coin is almost impossible.

the coin shows in my opinion nice doubling on the ty of Liberty and the date as well, this is a coin you would not miss when under your scope, it sticks right at you and with a very nice die marker on the reverse between last s in states and the o of of.very nice coins and i thought here is chance to look at a very hard doubled die to locate and to say it is out there but very very elusive to say the least

Here's one you don't see everyday. Been looking for this for a while to no avail.

I have an old copy of Wexlers , The Lincoln Cent Doubled Die , and this one is in it. Knowing that , I still am guilty of giving this and other mid to late 70's dates just a quick once over. Need to stop that !
Dang nice coin and variety !

Hi john.

Even if you are doing a once over on the mid 70's coins, you will not miss this one. I started hunting this coin down in 1996 and to this day have searched over 300 thousand 1975 cents and only ever found one of these doubled dies, I would say this coin is very elusive to say the least, I do not know how many have been found but there has to be more of these out there somewhere, but where is the question lol. Maybe bob has an idea of how many have been reported, I would like to know if anyone else found this coin yet.

Then hopefully I haven't !
I do know that I have had to dig through my discard pile a time or two because it dawns on me that did see something a few coins back !

Believe it or not, this is one variety that I have never seen, nor have any ever been reported to me. A big O-fer for this really nice die.

This brings up a good question, how rare is this coin?what kind of value would it have? Due to not many being reported, after all of the years this doubled die has been circulating around, you would think you would see more, this is one doubled die you would not miss when searching for it, it is pretty easy to see and identify.

Thank you all for looking at the coin, all I got to say is good luck finding this coin, this is without a dought one of the toughest doubled dies I ever had to track down, even thougher then the 72 die four doubled die, even though this coin is not as significant as other main stream doubled dies or I should say popular ddo's and ddr's. This coin is still a very nice doubled die to obtain and add to your collection And should gain more popularity due to its rareness.

Once agian, thank you all

Nice find. I also have Wexler's old book. But that one is going to get me back searching.
