Sorry. I don't see anything convincing based on those photos. It appears to me MD.

I'm thinking MD also. It looks like the top portion of the D is smashed indicating MD or a hit. Sometimes with MD it will show on the date as well. Look at the top of the date, it appears to have the same type of doubling.
