1990 D Designer's initials

I have a question about 1990 D designers initials. It appears to me that I see two different versions here. On the bottom inside loop of the G the normal one is rounded and the "not normal" one is squared off. Frankly, everything about the G looks different. Would love some opinions. Thanks

The one on the right has been affected by deterioration or a striking issue. That is why it appears different. They are the same design.
