This Mint mark looks inverted to me.

I see that there are several odd shaped S for this year and figured it to be combination of die deterioration and machine doubling. One roll was pristine until last couple of coins then the next roll had a bunch with MD.

I think its deterioration. Been through about $60 face of these lately. I have several like this one. A fully struck 69S should be a variety in itself!
