This looks like MD, but I don't recall seeing one the severe.

No doubt about it being MD. There were some rather severe examples for this date. I can recall seeing a lot of them, but you are correct, this one is a very strong example.

That's a good educational example, especially on a 1972, to show people the difference between MD and a doubled die.

MD as noted. And the type of MD that in the wrong hands would lead to a erroneous ebay listing LOL.
