THESE PICS ARENT EXACTLY PERF BUT ONE OF MY EBAY CUSTOMERS SENT ME A FEW PICS "HE IS 85 AND NOT TECH SAVY" BUT HE IS ADMIRED DEARLY BY MYSELF......WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ABOUT THIS COIN I ALSO HAVE A ANOTHER PIC OR TWO OF OTHER COINS WILL SEND ASAP XX

There was no "plating" in '55, the coins were struck on copper planchets.

Can't tell on yours but I've found three coins in the fifties that were plated post mint. I've seen auhtentic Lincolns on Ebay struck on dime planchets that resemble mine. Mine have a glossy appearance and a "build up" on the edge of all devices that give away the plating.

Plated with mercury if you ask me

The plating on Lincolns did not start until mid 1982!!!

A common science experiment back in the day. Either mercury or pewter. Some cents are on dime or nickel planchets but this isn't one of them

I agree with the general consensus here. This coin was definitely plated post mint.
