1983P IDB RT TOP MEMORIAL QUESTION

This looks like a smaller version of George dePozsgay's IDB-1c-1983-01R on cuds-on-coins.com and i can't make this font go away. My question is, my coin has very thin devices which I am thinking is due to a worn out die so wouldn't an old die have such an effect to also cause the die break to be bigger?

That looks to be a new IDB... Yours is farther west than 83-01R and smaller... BJ would need to look at this one to be sure it is listable!!!

Thank you very much Jim! I guess I am right in thinking that the size of the IDB does change with the age of the die because I think I remember seeing progression photos of the IDB's in the first column of the memorial. Amazing how much you can forget in a year!

Yes they can get larger with die use... The die continues to chip out!!!
